The community has been actively involved in telling us what they want for the future of the stadium. More than 3,000 people provided feedback in a six-week consultation process in 2022.
-
Further feedback was provided by fans and the local community during a four-week consultation process in early 2024.
-
This feedback has been carefully considered by the project team and has informed the design for the stadium redevelopment.
-
Public exhibition of the proposed design closed on 25 June 2024. Submissions are now under review.
How can we help?
Community
Has the community been involved in the scope of the stadium?
Why was the Penrith Stadium prioritised?
The NSW Government’s decision to proceed with the onsite redevelopment of Penrith Stadium within the allocated budget ensures the venue’s amenity and event experience is enhanced, and the stadium continues to be a highly valued community and sporting destination for Greater Penrith and the broader Western Sydney community.
What green space in the outer grounds will be accessible to the public when not in event mode?
-
The stadium upgrade has been designed to improve the event day experience for fans and players and is set to attract visitors from far and wide, creating a superior venue for sports events, live music and entertainment.
-
The stadium precinct will also provide quality open space for outdoor community and entertainment events.
-
It is proposed that the outer grounds remain open and accessible to the general public on non-event days when not required for event purposes.
Why has the stadium changed from a rebuild to a redevelopment?
- Early estimates on the cost had indicated acquiring the nearby Paceway site. Building a new stadium on the Paceway site would cost more than $309 million.
- Cost pressures include supply chain issues, inflation, and the after-effects of the pandemic.
- We have considered how $309 million can best be utilised to meet the community’s expectations and provide modern facilities while remaining within the project budget.
