Penrith Stadium one step closer

The NSW Government has announced a major milestone in the redevelopment of Penrith Stadium, with an Expression of Interest (EOI) process underway to find a project partner to deliver the refurbished stadium. 

The redevelopment, which aims to transform Penrith Stadium into the ‘best suburban stadium in Australia’ will offer a significantly improved experience for families and fans, year-round. 

Penrith Stadium is proposed to become a superior venue for different forms of entertainment, significantly improving the experience for spectators, with more food outlets and amenities, new scoreboards and ribbon boards, sound systems, upgraded lighting and more recreation space.

As part of the upgrade the ground capacity will be increased to around 25,000 and the grandstands re-designed to be steeper, so fans are as close to the action as possible and have better sightlines to the field or stage.

Additionally, the training field to the west of the stadium will be remodelled to create new quality open spaces with multipurpose courts and improved landscaping for further outdoor community use and entertainment events.

The design prioritises accessibility, with a 500% increase in wheelchair accessible seating and an 85% increase in accessible toilets. It will also incorporate a Connecting with Country Framework to acknowledge the area's First Nations history, as well as sustainable design.

The community has been actively involved in shaping the future of the stadium and will be invited to make a submission on the designs when the State Significant Development Application is placed on public exhibition in the coming weeks.
