Innovative lifting technology transforming Penrith Stadium’s redevelopment
Cutting-edge technology is playing a key role in delivering Penrith Stadium redevelopment.
The VITA Load Navigator (VLN) is an advanced lifting solution transforming how heavy precast plats, that form the base of the grandstand seating areas, are safely and efficiently positioned on the grandstands.
The VLN is a semi-autonomous, remote‑controlled stabilisation system that attaches below the crane hook and uses high‑powered fans to eliminate load spinning and rotations during lifts. It also delivers exceptional precision, enabling heavy structural elements to be placed with an accuracy of 1 degree.
The system allows crews to operate remotely from up to 182 metres away, keeping workers within safe zones and removing the need for taglines or close proximity to suspended loads.
This level of control speeds up installations, reduces rework, and supports a more efficient construction process. By minimising crane hours and delays, the VLN also lowers diesel consumption and reduces the project’s carbon footprint during the lifting phase.
In partnership with local Western Sydney business ERNE Lifting, the technology has been instrumental in increasing productivity to as many as 14 double plats (each plat can weigh up to 20 tonnes) per day using a single crane. Powered by advanced AI controls, GPS technology and wind resilient stabilisation, the VLN is redefining what’s possible in stadium construction.
