Building smarter: volumetric cores at Penrith Stadium

The western grandstand will incorporate three lift cores, each formed using precast concrete modules.

Precision, innovation and collaboration are driving progress at the Penrith Stadium redevelopment, where the team is showcasing its expertise through the installation of precast volumetric cores.

These large, pre assembled concrete modules (each weighing around 30 tonnes) are meticulously designed and manufactured off site at a specialised facility before being transported to site by semi trailers. Once on site, the modules are carefully lifted into place. By shifting much of the work off site, this efficient construction approach accelerates the stadium’s build.

A total of 40 modules will be installed to form the three lift cores in the western grandstand.
