Roof completes Penrith Stadium’s new look
The western Sydney skyline has been transformed, with the new roof at Penrith Stadium now complete.
The stadium roof comprises eight prefabricated modules ranging from 24 to 37 metres long, 16 to 31 metres wide and up to 120 tonnes in weight. The heaviest lift, including rigging, weighed approximately 155 tonnes. Together, 3,480 critical lifts helped safely deliver a landmark roof for the stadium.
Sustainability has also been built into the design, with western grandstand roof solar panels capable of generating up to 120kW of electricity to help reduce reliance on the grid.
Safety, innovation and efficiency came together in the delivery of Penrith Stadium’s new roof, with eight prefabricated modules built at ground level and lifted into place, reducing work at height, improving quality control and keeping construction moving at pace.
With the roof now in place, work will continue on the internal fit-out and the field of play ahead of the stadium’s opening in 2027.
