Main construction work starts on Penrith stadium

Construction has started on Penrith stadium and its surrounding entertainment precinct.

John Holland has been appointed to deliver this infrastructure which will provide Penrith with a new a social and entertainment hub that will support more families moving into new homes being rolled out in Sydney’s west by the NSW Government. The project is also expected to generate around 500 jobs during construction and a further 650 jobs during operation.

Construction activities planned for the next couple of months will include:

  • Setting up facilities including offices, amenities, parking and storage
  • Installing fences and adjustments to site hoarding and security of the site
  • Setting environmental controls in place
  • Soft strip demolition (removal of internal fixtures, fittings, partitions, ceilings, etc)
  • Hard demolition (removal of all seating, stands and other structural elements).  

The project is expected to be complete with the stadium ready for operations in 2027.
